the Hill-side have been on my radar since I first heard about them over a year and a half ago. Their aesthetic is one that I can really relate to, so when they come out with a new product I am always interested to see what they have in store. Well, this is definitely their most interesting. My past employer (the Hill-side) and current employer (the Ace Hotel) have joined forces to bring you a brand new product. A pocket square, handkerchief, and scarf made of double indigo yarn dyed 9 oz selvedge chambray. And if you want something a little different go for the scarf. It is hand embroidered in Queens by Kate Durkin, who can be found vending at the Brooklyn Flea on weekends.
Secret Forts and Mr. Matt Baldwin and the Vans Vault x C.C. Filson Sk8-His are a product of my own demise. So take the small things and update them whether it be your laces, watch band, belt buckle, or socks.
My good friend and inspiration was featured in the long running Test Shots series by Jake Davis. He is one gentleman who runs with his own pack. Just take it from Jake Davis himelf...
"It's the ones that talk the least that often have the most to say. If you understand that paradox then you understand the world of of Secret Forts. I've wanted to shoot my buddy and creator James Wilson for a while now. Kindred if you will, like most of us who are searching for that perfect object, word, or moving image to capture our emotions. As we look for an explanation of the things we know, love, and can't seem to live without his playground is always a destination of discovery.
I'm excited to show you James in the Test Shot style. A great subtlety in his wardrobe and speech. I also love his color combination of blue and tan. Here's a look at the Undefeated x K-Swiss collabos in the final tan colorway. And you know I had to highlight the infamous blown out crotch. Please enjoy some daily inspiration courtesy of our homie James Wilson..."

If you're in LA do not miss this, there will be goods galore from the likes of Pendleton to Old War Horse moccasins. Check out the flyer here.
The Hill-side is back for another amazing season and with another amazing lookbook. This time they took over the photobooth at The Bell House, a Gowanus local hang-out, bar and music venue, and unleashed their all too unruly friends to take full advantage of the photobooth and their amazing waxed canvas, wool, and cotton ties, handkerchiefs, pocket squares and scarves. Take a gander at the results and see a cameo from your's truly here.
